BOLIVAR - Fay Walter Scott of Little Genesee, New York passed away on Thursday October 24, 2013 at age 87. Fay was born on February 10, 1926 in Friendship, NY, the son of Floyd & Marie Scott. On June 27, 1952 Fay married Lois Wilson Scott who preceded him in death one month ago. They lived in the same house in Little Genesee for 55 years. During WWII Fay served in the Navy as a mine sweeper and was honorably discharged January 3, 1946. He graduated from the Westbrook Academy in Olean, NY and later graduated from Lewis Hotel Training School in Washington, DC. In 1957 he joined the New York State Police and retired in 1979 with a rank of zone sergeant.

Fay was an avid hunter and fisherman and a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills and the University of Illinois. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of the Bolivar and Friendship American Legions for 52 years.

Surviving are one son Jeffrey Scott of Ogden, IL; three grandchildren, Macey Scott of Catlin, IL, Nichole Scott of Deltona, FL and Jason Scott of Debary, FL; four great-grandchildren, Ross Riggs III, Jordynn Riggs of Deltona, FL and Evan and Noah Scott of Debary FL; two brothers, Lawrence Scott of Arcade, NY, Russell Scott of Rushford, NY and Carmen Stephens of Wellsville, NY.

There is no visitation. A memorial service and burial will be held in Danville, IL near the home of his son.

In the honor of Fay’s love for his dogs Doc, Bobo and Babe and his grand-dogs Blade, Buckley and Boomer, memorials may be made in his name to the Champaign County Humane Society 1911 East Main Street Urbana, IL 61802.
