Shirley A. Morsman


FRIENDSHIP - Shirley A. Morsman, 67, of 6757 Wells Road passed away on Saturday (July 13, 2013) in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, following a lengthy illness.

Born March 10, 1946, in Cuba, she was the daughter Ralph and Catherine Strang Emerson. On April 18, 1970, in Friendship, she married Michael D. Morsman, who survives. Shirley was a graduate of the Richburg Central School.

Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy. Her interests included quilting, crocheting and crafts. For many years she donated her hats and blankets to Roswell Park Cancer Institute for cancer patients.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Dean (Jess Mayberry) Morsman, of Friendship and David (Christina) McCarthy, of Tenn.; a daughter, Dawn (Christopher) Stilson, of Bolivar; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy (Ken) Gilliland, of Bolivar, Karen (Gary Carr) Leilous, of Bolivar, Phyllis (John Crossman) Napier, of Shinglehouse, Pa. and Gloria White, of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service 11 a.m. on Thursday (July 18, 2013) in the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar.

The Rev. Leslie Chambers of the West Clarksville Baptist Church will officiate. The burial will be in Richburg cemetery.
