RICHBURG - William E. Blue, 80, of 6309 Allentown Road, passed away on Sunday (April 28, 2013) in the Jones Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 1, 1932, in Bolivar, he was the son of William and Nora DeLong Blue. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. William was employed as a machinist by Dresser-Rand Co. of Olean for 33 years prior to his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, restoring old tractors and taking photos of wildlife.

Surviving are two children, Pauline Roulo of Richburg, and Rodney Blue of Neosho, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Audrey) Blue of Friendship, Frank (Millie) Blue of Friendship, and Clarence Blue of California; one sister, Bernice Blue of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Stephen Blue, Rodney Blue Jr. and Justin Blue; three sisters, Elta Dean, Hazel Lewis and Elizabeth Lacy; and one brother, Cecil Blue.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. in Bolivar on Thursday (May 2, 2013) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Glen Layfield of the Scio Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Richburg Cemetery. Memorials to the Richburg Fire Department Ambulance Fund would be appreciated by the family.
