BOLIVAR - Mary Lou Haught, of 1454 S. Bolivar Road, passed away Thursday (July 31, 2014) in Jones Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born May 22, 1933 in Bolivar, she was a daughter of Harry and Mary Whitzer Heito Bush. On May 8, 1982, in Bolivar, she married Robert Haught, who preceded her in death.

Mary Lou was employed at the Bolivar Country Club, Little Genesee Library and the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a member of the Allegany County Trailblazers Club and the Little Genesee Quilting Club.

Surviving are nine children, Timothy (Don Brenton) Mesler of Asheville, N.C., Mary Ellen Mesler of Olean, Martha (Steven) Shannon of Kannapolis, N.C., Maureen (Robert) Brewer of Friendship, Daniel (Rosemary) Mesler of Bolivar, Michael (Kathy) Mesler of Bolivar, John (Kevin Morse) Mesler of High Point, N.C., Christopher Mesler of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., and Melinda (James) Herman of Wellsville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jane Bush of Olean, Marian Murphy of Wellsville, and Donna (James) Melville of Olean; and a brother, Harry Bush of Honeoye Falls.

She was preceded in death by a son, Martin Mesler; three grandchildren, Chad Brewer, Jason Mesler, and Joseph Herman; two sisters, Virginia Logonergro and Josephine Bush; and two brothers, George Bush and William Bush.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc., in Bolivar. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday (Aug. 4, 2014) in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Herne of the Heritage Aflame Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar.
