BELMONT - Robert O. Buell 98 formally of 5478 County Route 248 and a former Little Genesee resident, passed away Thursday 3-27-14 in the Manor Care Center following a brief illness. Born May 30, 1915 in Hume, NY, he was the son of Orlow J. and Arlie Beardsley Buell. He married the former Polly Ann Asbury on July 11, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa; Mrs. Buell preceded him in death 10-23-1997.

He was a graduate of Bolivar Central School and received his bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design and Drafting in 1933. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the USN and was an aviation gunnery Instructor in Pensacola, FL. Robert began his career working at Clark Bros. Olean, NY. He then worked at Bovaird and Seyfang in Bradford, PA and later transferred to Dresser Clark in Olean where he designed engines and compressors for the Oil & Gas Industry, retiring at 1977. He was a member of the Bolivar Methodist Church and Macedonia Lodge 258 F. & M. Bolivar.

Along with his wife, he was an avid round & square dancer. Bob was an avid downhill skier at Holiday Valley and was an active skier into his 90’s.

Surviving are two daughters: Anne Bremer, Appleton, WI and Amy Holt, Scottsville, NY. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Breton C. Buell.

There will be no prior visitation. Family members will gather at a later date for a time of remembrance. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
