BOLIVAR – Charles H. Miller of 708 County Rt. 33 passed away Friday September 4, 2015 at the home of his daughter following a lengthy illness. Born April 16, 1938 in Ridgway, Pa. he was the son of Marion S. “Babe” White and Elsie Miller. He married Irene Wedge on September 13, 1958 in Little Genesee, Mrs. Miller Survives.

Charlie was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving on active duty from 1955-1959 and reserve duty from 1959-1963. He was formally employed by the Friendship Foundry, Otis Eastern Corp. Wellsville, and retired from Dresser Clark Corp. Olean in 1980 following sixteen years of service. Following his retirement Charlie owned and operated a contracting business in Bolivar. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family, playing Santa for family, friends and anyone who asked.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Faith (Chris) Perkins Bolivar, Lawrence Miller Sr. Bolivar, Rhonda Slocum Bolivar, Charlene (Jim) DiBartolo Bolivar, Sonya (Norman) Ellis Bolivar and Susan Miller Bolivar. Twelve grandchildren; Rebecca Moore, Michael Perkins, Kurtis Slocum, Robert Slocum, Kimberly Barber, Jessica Miller, Lawrence Miller Jr. Chelsie McGonagall, Lukas Miller, Benjamin Ellis, Heidi Ellis and Sadie Ellis. Twelve great grandchildren, two sisters; Naomi Ruth of White OK, and Carol Slocum of Wellsville. Also surviving is one brother Marion “Sonny” White Scio and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Sandra Wallace and Nancy White and two infant siblings.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Monday 3-6P.M. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 6P.M. Rev. David Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries will officiate. Burial with Military honors will be held on Tuesday at 11A.M. in the Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
