WALKERTOWN, N.C. - Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Richard Paul Konert 78 of 3885 Hastings Road and formerly from his beloved Bolivar, N.Y., passed away Tuesday September 8, 2015 at home following a lengthy illness. Born January 4, 1937 in Olean, he was the son of Erwin and Elizabeth Hollander Konert. He married Valerie Loucks on September 26, 1959 (56 years ago) in Olean, Mrs. Konert survives.

He was a graduate of the Olean High School class of 1954 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960. Dick was employed by the former Dresser Clark Co. Olean, Beneficial Finance Co, Stroehmanns Bakery and from 1961-December 1993 (32) years was employed as a salesman for Proctor & Gamble Dist. Co. winning several outstanding awards, including salesman of the year numerous times. Dick formally lived in Ceres, Lakewood and Zephyrhills, FL. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He also was a past member of Niagara Mohawk/National Grid Retirees, Lions Club, Rotary Club, American Legion, Elks Club, and Eagles Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: Bradd (Loretta) Konert Naples, FL, Brenda (Jeffrey) Daniels Lafayette, GA, Sean (Glenda) Konert Bonita Springs, FL, Stephanie (Kevin) Hatch Walkertown, NC. Grandchildren: Nicholas Clayson, Karina Whitlock, Kirk Konert, Bradd Konert Jr., Matthew Hatch, Kameron Konert, Andrea Hatch. Five great grandchildren: Maryrose Whitlock, AnnaLynn Konert, Thaddeus Hogan, Hudson Konert, Luke Konert. Two Nieces: Kelly Bentley, Kim Konert. He is also survived by “his other daughter” Kris Gould.

A celebration of his life will take place Saturday September 12, 2015 in the Bolivar United Methodist Church at 11am with Reverend Darell Harris officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials to: Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Care 101 Hospice Ln. Winston Salem N.C. 27103.
