RICHBURG - Robert E. Mitchell 93 of 374 West Notch Road passed away Friday January 30, 2015 at home following a lengthy illness. Born August 10, 1921 in Raymond Pa. he was the son of Elmer and Mary Baldwin Mitchell.

He married the former Etta Love on March 21, 1942 in Richburg. Mrs. Mitchell preceded him in death on August 24, 2002.

Bob was a veteran of W.W.II serving with the U.S. Army. He was employed by Messer Oil Co. Bolivar for fifteen years, Quaker State Oil Co. for four years, Neil Wilson for seven years, Norm Mesler for seven years, Acme Electric Co. Cuba for nine years, and retired as head custodian at the Richburg Central School in 1992 following fifteen years of service.

Surviving are four sons, Rocky (Sylvia) Mitchell of Florida, Larry Mitchell of West Almond N.Y., Fred (Shirley) Mitchell of Richburg and Robert (Deborah) Mitchell of Bolivar; two sisters, Elma Pangburn of Arcade, and Vesta Lewis of Brewerton N.Y. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and his faithful companion Ben the Bum. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lyle Mitchell, Claude Mitchell, and Alan Mitchell; one daughter Susan Culbert and one grandson.

There will be no prior visitation. Private family Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2015 in the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar. Pastor Larry Allen of the Richburg First Day Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Richburg Cemetery.

Memorials to the Richburg Fire Dept. would be appreciated by the family.
