BOLIVAR - Roy J. McDonald 75 of 120 Second Street passed away Wednesday November 11, 2015 unexpectedly at home. Born June 24, 1940 in Shinglehouse Pa, he was the son of Roy and Kate Shelander McDonald.

He married the former Barbara Tarr on November 7, 1964 in Richburg. Mrs. McDonald preceded him in death on November 17, 1994. Roy owned and operated a gas station in Buffalo and was a service repairman for Antoon’s Appliance Store in Wellsville. Roy loved playing bingo, playing cards and listening to music.

Surviving are seven children: Roy McDonald, Bolivar; Darlene (Jerry) Pierce, Bolivar; James (Deanna) McDonald, Bolivar; Joe (Kristen) McDonald, Bolivar; JoEllen (Tim) Sisson, Bolivar; Marjory (Josh Jimerson) McDonald, Salamanca and Michael McDonald, Bolivar. Also surviving are: twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ted McDonald, Bolivar; Ed (Patricia) McDonald, Lockport NY; one sister Sherry (Doug) Benjamin, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by two brothers: James McDonald and Dick McDonald and also two sisters: Patricia Albert and infant sister Betty McDonald.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Saturday November 14, 2015 from 11A.M.-1:30P.M, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Kevin Palmitier pastor of the Little Genesee First Seventh Day Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee N.Y.
