Harlan J. Fancher 90 of 156 Evans Avenue passed away Monday January 15, 2018 in the Olean General Hospital following a brief illness. Born September 28, 1927 in Bolivar he was the son of Homer and Gladys Phillips Fancher. Harlan married the former Virginia Russell on February 13, 1948, Mrs. Fancher survives.

Harlan was a former driller in the local gas fields. He was later was employed as a welder for the former Turbodyne Co. Wellsville for twenty-three years retiring in 1989. Following his retirement Harlan operated a watch repair shop in his home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Gary (Lois) Fancher Black Creek, Alan (Lois) Fancher Cambridge MN as well as six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one brother Keith Fancher South Carolina. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Angela Fancher, two Sisters, Dorothy Weber and Norma Stewart and one brother Jack Fancher.

There will be no prior visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar. Memorials may be made to Richburg Fire Department Ambulance Fund, Box 253, Richburg, NY 14774. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar.
