Beatrice E. Hettenbaugh
1919-2015
BOLIVAR - Beatrice E. Hettenbaugh 95 of 1383 Bartlett Road passed away Saturday March 7, 2015
in the Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville following a brief illness. Born December 30, 1919
in Friendship she was the daughter of Merle & Margaret Perry Bissell. She married Carl “Pete”
Hettenbaugh on August 21, 1955 in Hillsdale N.Y. Mr. Hettenbaugh preceded her in death on April 26, 2010.
Bea was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Wellsville. At the age of eighteen Bea
started working at the Modern Diner in Wellsville and later was employed by Bausch & Lomb in Wellsville.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church Bolivar and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society of the church
and the Woman’s Prayer Group. She was a member of the Home Bureau.
Surviving are five Children: Mary Lou(Ed) Evans Ellicottville NY, John (Alma) Blackwell Eldred PA,
Carole (Paul) Vannais of Venice FL, Pete (Gina) Hettenbaugh Phoenix NY and Lynne (Doug) Moore Bolivar.
Also surviving are: twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren,
two brothers: Fred Bissell Homestead FL, Don (Joyce) Bissell Depew NY, one sister Ruth Wolf Brockport NY
and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Carl, Paul, Howard, and Harold Bissell.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 4-7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11A.M. in St. Mary’s Church in Bolivar
with Rev. Sean DiMaria Pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Bolivar.
