LITTLE GENESEE - William J. McIntyre Sr. 87, a 33 year resident of 7760 Willow Brook Road in Little
Genesee, N.Y., passed away Friday May 8, 2015 in the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean,
NY following a brief illness. Born April 20, 1928 in Beggs OK, he was the son of Merle A. and Nila
Clawges McIntyre. On October 16, 1948 he married Shirley Cochran. Mrs. McIntyre preceded him in
death on April 17, 1982. On September 15, 1982 he married Joanne Cornelius in West Clarksville. Mrs.
McIntyre preceded him in death December 29, 1997.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1946-48. Bill was employed by the B&O Railroad
Salamanca, N.Y. Later he was employed by Phillips 66 Petroleum as a rough neck. Bill was also a selfemployed
logger in the Bolivar area.
Surviving are four children; William (Ann) McIntyre Jr. of Fredonia NY, Richard (Ann) McIntyre of Little
Genesee, NY, Kathleen (Glenn) Econopouly of Rio Rancho, NM and Emily (Rod) Harris of Eldred, PA. Also
surviving are twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one sister Nila Marie McIntyre
of Olean, NY. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jeanie Charlotte McIntyre, two brothers; Robert
McIntyre and Herbert McIntyre, one sister Joann Mays, and one granddaughter Rene Birt.
There will be no prior visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Farmersville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Thursday May 14, 2015 from 5-8P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 15th in the Hillside Wesleyan Church at 10A.M. with Rev.
Richard Long officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
