Cheryl S. Johnson
1946-2016
Bolivar - Cheryl S. Johnson 70 of 7933 Rt. 417 W. passed away Monday December 19, 2016 at Elderwood
of Hornell following a brief illness. Born June 26, 1946 in Olean she was the daughter of Jack and
Lucille Latten Sexton.
Cheryl was a graduate of the Bolivar Central School class of 1964. She was employed by Heritage Cutlery
Bolivar for several years, Dugan Tractor/Maple Mountain Equipment Wellsville, and Steuben Trust Bank
Bolivar. Cheryl was an active member of the Bolivar Fireman’s Auxiliary and Kenyon Andrus Post 772
American Legion Auxiliary Bolivar. She was a volunteer at the Heritage AFlame Ministries Bolivar,
and most recently was elected to the Board of Fire Commissioners for the Bolivar Fire Dept.
Surviving are three sons, Todd (Kris) Johnson Portville, Brent (Andrea) Johnson Shertz, TX and William
(Laura Winans) Johnson Bolivar. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Dustin Johnson, Sr., Airman
Cody Johnson, Clay Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Schuyler Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Britney
Winans; two brothers, Thomas (Nancy) Sexton Elmira, Bradley (Debbie) Sexton Bolivar and several
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lucille Sexton.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Thursday December 22, 2016 from 4-7
P.M. and Friday December 23, 2016 from 11A.M. – 12 Noon. Funeral and committal services will follow
at 12 noon. Rev. David Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries Bolivar will officiate. Burial will be in
Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
Memorials to the Bolivar Fire Dept.460 Main St. Bolivar N.Y. 14715 would be appreciated by the family.
