Esther Lucille Sexton
1927-2016
BOLIVAR -- Esther Lucille Sexton, 89, of 597 South Main Street passed away on Sunday April 3, 2016 in
the Wellsville Manor Care Center following a brief illness. Born March 31, 1927 in Bolivar, she was the
daughter of Harland and Eunice Stives Latten. Lucille married Jack D. Sexton on April 21, 1945 in Bolivar;
Mr. Sexton preceded her in death on September 25, 2006.
She was a 1944 graduate of the Bolivar Central School. Lucille was a former employee of AVX Co. Olean.
She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and 4C’s senior citizens club in Bolivar. Lucille
was an avid bowler, bingo player, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a longtime volunteer with
the Bolivar Little League.
Surviving are three children; Cheryl Johnson, Bolivar; Thomas (Nancy) Sexton, Corning; and Bradley
(Debra) Sexton, Bolivar. Lucille is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar on Wednesday from 1-3 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday April 7, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. David
Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, in Bolivar.
Memorials to the Bolivar Fire Department Ambulance Fund (460 Main St. Bolivar, NY 14715) will be
greatly appreciated by the family.
