Francis J. Stedman 65 of 75 Wellsville St. passed away on Friday December 7, 2018 at home following a
brief illness. Born November 18, 1953 in Hornell NY, he was the son of Ken and Mary Pacaro Stedman.
Fran was a graduated of the Bolivar Central School class of 1972. Along with his father operated the
Bolivar Hotel from 1973-2014. From 2014 until his retirement in October 2018 was employed by Seneca
Allegany Casino Salamanca. Fran was a member of St. Mary’s Church Bolivar and was an avid antique
collector. He also did fund raising for area SPCAs and the American Cancer Society.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary (Roy) Scott Wellsville and Kathy Stedman Jamestown; one niece Mary Jane
Depew of Jamestown; two nephews, Bill (Wendy) Scott Wellsville and Charles Scott Honeye Falls NY. Also
surviving are several great nieces and nephews & several great-great grandnieces & nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents and one brother William Stedman.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Friday December 14, 2018 from 3-7 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018 beginning with a prayer service from the
funeral home at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church Bolivar at 11 A.M.
Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery Hornell, NY.
