Jennie M. Mix
1938-2018

Jennie M. Mix, 80, of 1338 S. Bolivar Road, passed away on Sunday (Sept. 2, 2018) at home,
following a lengthy illness. Born May 4, 1938, in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of Henry and
Elizabeth Diermyer Krotje. Jennie married John E. Mix on June 27, 1981, in Farmersville. Mr. Mix preceded her
in death on Jan. 23, 2015.
She was employed as a nurse's aide, at the Cattaraugus Co. Nursing Home in Olean, prior to her
retirement. Jennie was a member of the Bolivar Fireman's Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert "Spike" (Tamie) Holmes of Friendship, Richard (Rose Carpenter) Holmes of
Bolivar and Ronald (Karen) Holmes of Little Genesee; two step-children, John (Hellen) Mix of Wakefield, KS
and Gerilee Greene of Palm Bay, FL; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry
(Dottie) Krotje of Farmersville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Holmes in 2015; a granddaughter, Rose Mix; two brothers, Paul and
Barney Krotje; and one sister, Elizabeth Krebs.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in Farmersville
Cemetery.
