Robert E. Sherwood 63 of 123 Reed St. passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 5, 2018 in the Jones
Memorial Hospital Wellsville. Born on October 23, 1954 in Wellsville he was the son of Robert L. and
Dorothy Atkins Sherwood. Bob married the former Debra Baldwin on August 18, 1973 in Bolivar, Mrs.
Sherwood survives.
Bob was a graduate of the Richburg Central School class of 1973. He was employed by Dresser Rand Co.
Olean from 1973-1993 as a welder and later as a supervisor. In 1994 Bob began his career as a
Maintenance Mechanic at the Bolivar-Richburg Central School, retiring in 2017. He also owned and
operated Liberty Unlimited Contracting Co. in Bolivar. Bob was a member of Macedonia Lodge 258 F&AM
Bolivar, and NRA. He enjoyed go-kart racing, hunting, kayaking, and camping. Bob was known far and
wide for fixing, repairing or building anything.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter Shiloh (Robert) Mannix Richburg, two grandchildren;
Dylan & Hailey Mannix, four sisters; Nancy Darling Greene NY, Sandy (Dale) Dunkelman Ellicottville NY,
Lisa Webb Scio, Donna (George) Dentinger Tonawanda NY; one aunt Barbara Atkins Rochester NY, three
sisters-in law; Carol (Ron) Kuszaj Phoenix NY, Tina Baldwin Richburg and Cheryle Baldwin Bolivar. Also
surviving are his beloved dog Boo, his two best friends; Joe Bell and Dave Pieczynski as well as several
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son Dusten Sherwood 1980, his step parents
and two sisters; Terri Webb and Susan Webb.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8
P.M. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Friday August 10, 2018 at 11 A.M. Reverend
David Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries will officiate.
Memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
