George A. Green 95 of 68 Leather Street passed away on Monday February 4, 2019 in the Jones Memorial Hospital Wellsville following a lengthy illness. Born February 13, 1923 in Buffalo he was the son of Bernard and Edna Case Green. He married his loving wife of seventy-five years Frances White on July 31, 1943 in Bolivar, Mrs. Green survives.

George was called to meet with his lord Jesus in route through the footsteps in the sand to be with his God the Father in Heaven to siteth on the right hand and shallow waters. And at the end of the foot prints he never fell, for the Lord our Savior carried him on his back the rest of the way.

George was a master and inventor of his own right, fixing and repairing things with whatever resources were available. He worked many jobs including Daystrom Furniture Olean, CE Air Preheater Wellsville, and CG Wheelpuller Scio. He was a member of the chain gang at Bolivar Central School football games for over forty years. He maintained many lawns, gardens and flower beds. He was known for plowing snow for many families with his 1939 Allis Chalmers tractor. He was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children; Romaine (Gerald) Bonney Bolivar and George F. “Sac” Green Bolivar, two grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister Ethel Flake.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Friday February 8, 2019 from 11 A.M.- 1P.M. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 1 P.M. Kathie Timpano CLS Wellsville will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
