Mary L. Geisel 81 of 3282 County Route 8 passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2019 in the Olean General
Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born on April 3, 1937 in Buffalo she was the daughter of Charles A.
and Helen Ronayne Dubey. Mary married Henry W. Geisel in 1960. Mr. Geisel preceded her in death on
April 22, 1986.
She was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory High School in Lackawanna, NY. While living in the Buffalo area
Mary worked for Bell Telephone Company. Later Mary was both a homemaker and mother. Along with
her husband Mary owned and operated Inavale Greenhouse and tree farm and was employed by the
Money Saver Advertising Inc. Bolivar. Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Friendship and was
attending St. Mary’s Church Bolivar.
Surviving are five children: Charles W. Geisel Friendship, Mary P. (Glen) Lowery Wellsville, Anna M. (David)
Crowe Bolivar, Matthew J. (Alice) Geisel Friendship and Stephen H. Geisel Albany NY. Also surviving are
eight grandchildren: Todd, Troy, Megan, Anthony, Giles, David, Christine and Elizabeth; ten greatgrandchildren:
Riley, Madeline, Owen, Dean, Myra, Kingston, Silas, Malia, Gabriel and Briar. She was
preceded in death by an infant son Donald J. Geisel.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 6, 2019 at
11 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church Bolivar. Fr. Robert Agbo will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart
Cemetery Friendship. The family will receive friends following the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
