Janet M. Nichols 64 of 8201 Route 60N and a former Bolivar resident passed away on Thursday October
22, 2020 in the Millard Fillmore Hospital Buffalo following a brief illness. Born on September 21, 1956 in
Olean she was the daughter of John N. and Patricia Ganoung Page.
Janet married Steven Nichols on July 24, 2002 in Weston Mills NY. Mr. Nichols survives. Janet was a
graduate of the Bolivar Central School class of 1974 and received her associate degree in Business
Administration from Olean Business Institute in 1994. She began her working career as a store manager
of Abyss Restaurant in Olean, later was employed by Cattaraugus County BOCES for ten years as an
account clerk specialist, Erie 2 BOCES as an account clerk, employed by Pine Valley Central School as
Elementary School Secretary for ten years, Chautauqua County Opportunities in Dunkirk as Executive
Assistant prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the Kenyon Andrus Post 772 American
Legion Auxiliary Bolivar.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Robert Osborne Ceres NY and Tonya Ham
Cassadaga NY; three stepchildren, Samantha Nichols Fredonia NY, Jessica Nichols Forestville NY, William
Nichols Fredonia NY; ten grandchildren, five brothers ,one sister and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Wednesday from 4-7P.M. Funeral services
will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday October 29, 2020 at 11 A.M. Alva Cornell pastor of the
Bolivar United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery Olean.
