Larry E. ”Butchie” Whitney 77 of 283 East Dyke St. passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2021 in the Robert Packer Hospital Sayre, PA following a brief illness. Born on November 26, 1943 in Olean he was the son of Victor C. and Gladys Beckwith Whitney.

Larry was a graduate of the Angelica Central School, class of 1961. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea from 1961-1967. Larry married Janet Green on June 23, 1965 in Angelica, Mrs. Whitney preceded him in death on October 23, 1998. On June 24, 2000 Larry married Ruth Reisman in Angelica, Mrs. Whitney survives.

Larry was a former employee of Motorola Co. in Arcade and retired from Dresser Rand Co. Wellsville in 2004 after more than thirty years of service. He was a member of Genesis Bible Church Scio, and a life member of the Angelica Hose Co.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Rhonda (Dave) Smyers Richburg, and Richard (Paula) Whitney Scio; two step-sons, Mike (Julie Debaylo) Windus League City TX and Rick (Phyllis) Windus Bacliff City TX; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Rick (Lois) Whitney Bolivar; four sister-in laws, Sue (Dick) Peck Wellsville, Sally (Fred) Dannheim Wellsville, Brenda (Howard) Day Perry, Maryanne Whitney Belmont; one brother-in-law, Roger (Maria) Reisman Rochester and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Dowd 1994; one brother and sister-inlaw, Victor L and Dolores Whitney; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Thomas Harding.

Friends may call at the Genesis Bible Church Scio on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 11A.M.-1P.M. Funeral Services will follow at 1 P.M. Pastor Marc Chamberlin will officiate. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery Angelica.
