Paula J. Higby 58 of 141 Depot Street passed away on Tuesday March 2, 2021 in the Jones Memorial
Hospital Wellsville following a brief illness. She was born on May 17, 1962 in Erie, PA. She was the
daughter of Floyd and Janice Rogers Piazza.
Paula married Raymond Higby Jr. on March 27, 1982 in Bolivar; Mr. Higby preceded her in death on
February 27, 2016. Paula was a graduate of Harborcreek, PA High School. She was employed by Jan &
Bev’s Home Care Service Wellsville as a home health care aid for twenty-two years. She was later
employed by Manor Hill Wellsville, Will Care and AIM Independent Living and for a special friend Brent
Howard.
Surviving are three children, Floyd (Maria Burdick) Higby Richburg, Stacy Higby Richburg, James (Stephen
Blue) Higby Bolivar; nine grandchildren, Cynthia Shipman, Callin Shipman, Baileigh Higby, Tatum Higby,
Jade Higby, Christian Higby, Deacon Phearsdorf, Kyla Phearsdorf, Rylee Phearsdorf; a grand dog Moxie;
three brothers, Floyd (Patty) Piazza Jr. Findley Lake NY, Robert (Elaine) Piazza Union City PA, Paul Piazza
Harbor Creek PA; one sister Judy (Dave) Cook Edinboro PA and two sister-In-laws Linda (Forest) Shaner
and Barb (Terry) White both of Little Genesee; a dear friend Robert Stobbart Bolivar, several aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in
Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar.
