Kenneth Leroy Bean 75 of 303 East Lynwood Dr. and a former Ceres resident passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Bean was born on the 24th of July 1947 in Olean, NY. He was the son of Emmett and Bertha Goodell Bean.

In his late teens/mid-twenties Mr. Bean Enjoyed hunting, and fishing and participated in demolition derbies and stock car racing. In the early 1960s Ken was employed by the Cuba Cheese and Trading Co, later was employed by Drake Manufacturing in Friendship. Ken later started his career at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a general laborer. During his career with Penn DOT Ken advanced to the position of Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in 1999 after thirty years of service. Ken also owned and operated an auto repair/inspection garage.

Surviving are two daughters, Tonya (Kevin) Amstutz Syracuse IN and Michaelle (Jake) Wilde Rixford PA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Monday August 1, 2022 from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. A graveside service will be held following visitation in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar. Rev. David Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries Bolivar will officiate.
