Mary L. Smith 96 of 2347 Clark Road passed away on Saturday February 5, 2022 in the Cuba Memorial
Hospital following a brief illness. Born on September 11, 1925 in Coudersport PA, she was the daughter of
Ervin and Ruth Clute Lehman. Mary married John Smith on September 28, 1945 in Farmers Valley PA. Mr.
Smith preceded her in death March 9, 2013.
During WWII Mary was employed by Sylvania Co. in Galeton PA. Later she was employed as a Postal Clerk
in the Richburg Post Office from 1962-1975. In 1975 Mary was appointed Postmaster at the Richburg Post
Office, retiring in 1990. She was a former member of the Home Bureau.
Surviving are four sons, Ervin (Monica) Smith Bolivar, Duane (Linda) Smith Cuba, Craig Smith Wirt and
Kenneth Smith West Clarksville. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seventeen greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister Rhoda Pekarski.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Thursday February 10, 2022 from 12 Noon-
2 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 2 P.M.
Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
