Roy A. McDonald

Roy A. McDonald, 56, of 324 Main Street, Bolivar, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital after an illness. Born on September 10, 1965, in Buffalo, he was a son of Roy J. and Barbara Tarr McDonald.

Roy was a graduate of Bolivar Central Schools Class of 1984. After high school Roy worked at Mr. Ed’s Restaurant in Olean as a dishwasher, cleaner, prep cook, and maintenance employee. He had also worked at Heritage Cutlery in Bolivar for ten years, Northern Lights Candles in Wellsville in the Shipping and Maintenance Departments, and was last employed by McDonalds in Wellsville as a maintenance employee. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed doing various handyman jobs.

He also enjoyed hunting for Big Foot, treasure hunting with his metal detector, collecting coins and antiques, and generally anything that involved nature. When his children were younger, he was active in their lives as a youth coach for wrestling and softball.

Pierce, JoEllen (Tim) Sisson, and Marjory (Josh) Jimerson all of Bolivar
Several Nieces and Nephews

He was predeceased by his parents.

Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc., 554 South Main Street, Bolivar, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at which time Funeral Services will be held. Rev. David Thorngate will officiate.
