Sharon L. Barkley
1941-2022
Lindley, NYSharon L. (Manning) Barkley 81 a former Bolivar, NY resident passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022. Sharon
was born on April 30, 1941 in Olean, NY. She was the daughter of William and Veryl Casey Manning. Sharon married
Lawrence I. Barkley on March 4, 1961 in Bolivar, Mr. Barkley survives.
Sharon was a graduate of Bolivar Central School in 1959, and attended Alfred University. With her husband they
raised three children. Throughout her life Sharon enjoyed bowling, history and travel. Her family remembers her
as a caring, generous, fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Marc (Tammy) Barkley and Shawn (Michelle) Barkley; one
daughter Jacklyn (Brian) Earl; fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Thomas (Rae Ann) Manning.
A private burial service will be held on October 22, 2022 in St. Mary’s Cemetery Bolivar. A remembrance service
will be held at a later date.
