Sherry L. “Sissy” Childs
1954-2022
BolivarSherry L. “Sissy” Childs 67 of 181 Wellsville St. passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at home following
a lengthy illness. Born on October 25, 1954 in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Theodore and
Betty Ransom McDonald. Sissy married Carl Steven Childs on June 10, 1972 in Obi NY. Mr. Childs survives.
Sissy was a graduate of the Bolivar Central School class of 1972.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children; Steven Childs Wellsville, Carly (Mark Herrington)
Childs Bolivar and Dustin (Jen) Childs Wellsville. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, five brothers;
Robert McDonald Little Genesee, Theodore McDonald Jr. Bolivar, Roger McDonald Little Genesee, Fred (Elise)
McDonald Little Genesee and Jeffery McDonald Arlington TX; one sister, Kimberly Gliden Genesee PA and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Sissy was preceded in death by a brother Douglas McDonald 2010 and a sister Vicki Keegan 2021.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday August 28, 2022 in the Obi Community Church at 2 P.M. Pastor David
Cook will officiate. A reception will follow in the Church. Burial will be in Bowler Memorial Cemetery
Little Genesee.
